Shop Service for DEUTZ and Detroit Engines... Your Deutz engine is serviced: in our 2,500 sq. ft. service bay with 4,000 lb. gantry for large in-shop repairs and complete engine overhauls is conveniently located in central Connecticut. We can build you a Detroit Diesel short block, long block or a complete engine. (53, 71 and 92 series). Genuine parts are used in all engine overhauls unless otherwise specified. The only exception is if genuine parts are not available, then an after market brand will be substituted.
The following extra provisions are offered but not
automatically included in the short block, long block and complete
engine overhaul: Detroit Diesel Short Block Rebuild: Disassemble your short block to a bare block, clean and inspect parts, liquid magna flux block and crankshaft. Recondition connecting rods and polish crankshaft. Replace cylinder kits, main bearings, connecting rod bearings, cam bearings, camshaft thrust washers, crankshaft thrust washers, oil pump drive (53 series), oil pump rotor set (53 series), oil pressure regulator springs and plungers. Rebuild oil pump. Install oil pump drive, oil pump, cylinder kits, crankshaft, camshaft and gear train. (CORES, SHAFTS, CASTINGS, AND GEARS MUST BE ACCEPTABLE) Detroit Diesel Long Block Rebuild: The same procedure as a short block plus recondition cylinder head(s). (CASTINGS MUST BE ACCEPTABLE). Reconditioned cylinder heads are degreased and magna fluxed. Valve seats and valves will be replaced if they do not meet Detroit Diesel Allison (DDA) specifications. Install new valve springs, injector tubes, "Reliabuilt" rocker arms and cam followers. Detroit Diesel Complete Overhaul: The same procedure as a long block rebuild plus replace Thermostat(s), gaskets and seals. Rebuild (if applicable) fuel pump, blower, turbo, water pump, injectors and governor. Make governor adjustments and test run the engine. Paint engine with a primer and paint. All overhauled engines are "Key Start" when completed!
